No More Names: A Conversation with Emerald Garner about Community Activism and Criminal Justice

Join a conversation featuring Emerald Garner (Eric Garner's daughter), former NBA player Etan Thomas and Professor Jonathan Walton -- with a focus on community activism and criminal justice.  In addition to the conversation, the event will also feature the performing groups Lincoln Hart + MJangles and 21cc. No More Names is a fundraising and awareness building organization with the mission to give youth a seat at the table on issues that affect them the most, starting with issues of criminal justice reform and police brutality. 

Emerald Garner is the youngest of five children from Esaw Snipes Garner and the late Eric Garner. She has become the leading voice in the fight for justice following the unjust death of her father, Eric Garner, who was put in a choke hold by police on Staten Island. Emerald was thrust into the media spotlight when she vowed to never stop fighting until laws and policies are changed in her father’s name. Her commitment to standing against injustice.  Emerald founded The Eric Garner Foundation and ignited the #thisstopstoday Campaign in 2014, a vehicle she chose to foster change throughout the nation. She believes, wholeheartedly, that you can truly "turn your anger into action."
